About the Head of Finance Position:
As Head of Finance, you’ll lead the finance function, collaborating with peers to enhance value across the organisation while motivating and developing your team to ensure they reach their full potential and maintain Finance’s respected role within the business.
This role will be based at our head office on Southwark Bridge Road but will require regular travel to our other office in Hemel Hempstead (HP2 7EE).
Key Responsibilities:
Management accounts & reporting:
- Take overall responsibility for the company’s Finance function, including sales & purchase ledgers, fixed assets, bank, stock, VAT returns, and other everyday Finance areas.
- Ensure the timely production of monthly management accounts.
- Manage monthly reviews and contribute to projects by providing analysis where you can add value.
Budgeting & forecasting:
- Be responsible for the budgeting and forecasting process, challenging the teams to deliver efficiently and on time.
- Take accountability for cost risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment in monthly forecasts.
- Oversee the production of monthly cash flow forecasts.
Business partnering:
- Work with sales and brand to set sales targets.
- Provide sales reporting and any other reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
- Partner with the wider management team to identify opportunities for finance to support and to achieve company goals.
Team management:
- Manage and develop an existing team of 8 Finance staff, including 2 direct reports (Finance Manager and Credit Control Manager).
- Mentor and develop staff, overseeing the on-boarding of new hires.
Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI, with strong Excel skills.
- Strong systems experience in large Finance and ERP system environments.
- Skilled at building relationships at a senior level, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Strong team leadership skills.
- Beauty or Fashion industry experience preferred but not essential.
