About the Field Sales Director Role
The Field Sales Director is a senior leadership role with national responsibility for field sales growth, team capability, and performance development across the UK and Ireland. This position leads the strategic execution of sales plans and commercial targets through two Heads of Field Sales (North and South) and the Head of Sales Training, ensuring alignment with company vision, culture, and growth ambitions.
This role plays a critical part in building a high-performance, results-driven, and people-centric sales organisation. It requires an inspirational leader with strategic vision, excellent coaching ability, and a proven background in driving both new business and account growth through field-based sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the national field sales strategy in line with commercial goals and company vision.
- Set and monitor ambitious sales targets for new business and existing clients.
- Lead, coach, and support the North and South Heads of Field Sales in managing 17 regional territories.
- Ensure all regional teams are equipped and accountable for building strong pipelines and acquiring new business.
- Lead the Sales Training function through direct oversight of the Head of Sales Training.
- Conduct regular field visits with Heads of Sales and frontline teams to support performance, coach in-the-moment, and engage salon partners.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience in leading field-based sales teams in a multi-region B2B environment, ideally in beauty, wellness, skincare, or premium retail distribution.
- Demonstrated success in delivering both new business and account growth across large territories.
- Experience leading and developing senior managers and sales trainers.
- Visionary leadership with strong strategic planning and commercial insight.
- Coaching and mentoring skills, with a focus on performance uplift and succession.
- Highly analytical with strong command of KPIs, sales data, and performance metrics.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid role with frequent national travel (approx. 50–60% of working time).
- Regular attendance at Head Office (London) and regional hubs.
- Flexibility required for events, evening meetings, or weekend engagements where necessary.
- UK & Ireland coverage.
