The Role
We are looking for experienced and engaging Japanese teachers to deliver face-to-face adult group courses, primarily:
- Evenings: 18:30–20:30 (groups running once per week)
- Additional opportunities: weekday afternoons, Friday evenings, and weekends
What you’ll do:
- Deliver high-quality, communicative Japanese lessons to adult learners
- Plan engaging lessons aligned with IH syllabi
- Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Build a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high academic standards
- Complete attendance records and update the SharePoint folder with a work done record
Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese
- Recognised teaching qualification in Japanese
- Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching groups
- Right to work in the UK and currently UK-based
- 420-hour Japanese teacher training qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience with Minna no Nihongo
- Degree in Japanese Language Education
- Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test
