Job Description:

International House London is currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic languages teachers to join our growing Foreign Languages team. The role primarily involves teaching adults on our 6-week Sunday morning face-to-face courses at our school in Covent Garden from 10:30 to 12:30. Please only apply if you are available to teach on Sunday mornings. Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality language lessons to adult learners.
  • Create engaging and effective lesson materials and activities.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of courses and maintain consistent teaching standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities.

Essential

  • Must have the right to work in the UK and be currently based in the UK.
  • Proficiency in the language taught (C2 level)
  • Fluent English
  • Initial teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant teaching experience to adults.
  • Clear Police Record and Enhanced DBS

Desirable

  • Possess a CELTA, Trinity TESOL or DELTA
  • QTS
  • Hold a degree in Dutch Language and Literature or a degree in Modern Languages (English, Spanish, German, French, etc.).

Working Hours:

This is a part-time position. We are looking for a teacher to deliver in-person courses on Sunday mornings (10:30 – 12:30). More hours can be offered in the evenings to the right candidates.
