About the Role
The Governance Manager collaborates with the Director of Membership Services and Governance to support the organization and delivery of IGU’s Governance Meetings. The Governance Manager is responsible for creating meeting agendas, pre-reads, and presentations, as well as capturing meeting minutes to ensure maximum membership value. The role also involves managing the meeting registration systems. The Governance Manager works closely with the hosts of Governance meetings to ensure compliance with IGU's governance meeting standards. The Governance Manager is expected to work from IGU’s London office at least 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Director of Membership Services and Governance to develop the schedule for Governance Meetings, contribute to the Annual Business Plan and Budget, and deliver efficient, innovative meeting agendas that enhance membership value.
- Maintains clear communication with members regarding upcoming Governance Meetings, agendas, and related materials.
- As a member of the Secretariat Team, provides recommendations on how to enhance overall membership value.
- Works with hosts of Governance Meetings to create necessary tools to ensure meetings are well-organised and deliver maximum value to members.
- Oversees meeting logistics, including preparation of the registration desk, setup of meeting rooms, AV system setup, and seating arrangements.
- Builds and maintains active, positive relationships with members and the broader IGU community.
- Measures, maintains, and monitors member satisfaction with Governance Meetings.
- Prepares, in collaboration with the Director of Membership Services and Governance, the various reading materials and presentations for Governance Meetings.
- Develops and manages membership voting during Governance Meetings.
- Develops and maintains, as needed, meeting apps.
- Provides support to the Manager of Membership Services as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of event management experience.
- Comfortable working with C-suite and senior executives and hosts.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
- Self-starter and team player.
- A relevant college diploma in international relations or a related field is preferred.
Travel
International travel may be required, so all applicants must hold a valid Passport with a minimum validity date of one year.
