As Scent Design Manager in Design Studio, you will be responsible for defining and executing product development and innovation strategies that lead to consumer relevant fragrance solutions that win in the marketplace. Based in our London office, you will collaborate with local perfumers, account managers and marketing and consumer insight specialists to contribute creatively to the development and introduction of new fragrance themes, technologies, consumer solutions, ideas and new development processes to serve our customers in a broad range of categories and segments.

- Project management
- Partner with internal customers/stakeholders to ensure fragrance strategies align to overall business objectives.
- Responsible for establishing olfactive direction and driving the overall success.
- Consistently drive process, discipline and effective execution to bring the desired speed to market.
- Monitor results and have the agility to change the course of a project when needed.
- Creative Excellence
- Partner with internal stakeholders to establish the creative strategy to drive the overall success of a project which fulfil customers' expectations and ensure profitability.
- Share market product knowledge/brand portfolio knowledge with internal stakeholders to help guide the creative process.
- Execution of the olfactive strategy by providing creative direction and olfactive guidance to perfumers to stimulate creativity.
- Identify potential fragrances based on brand fit and market relevance.
- Leverage fragrances from Bank for future and/or cross category initiatives.
- Understand all innovation and technical drivers which impact olfactive capabilities.
- Knowledge Management
- Have a thorough understanding of the process for managing the scent portfolio.
- Support the principles of the learning organization, generates insights.
- Customer focus and teamwork
- Drive the creative process by ensuring strong working relationships with internal/external customers.
- Present market trends, fragrance trends and CI analysis in partnership with relevant disciplines.
- Communicate effectively about fragrances including olfactive rationale for fragrance submissions in relation to trends, brands and competitive analysis.
- Olfactive Skills
- Ability to identify potential fragrances based on brand fit and market relevance.
- Demonstrate good olfactory skills and develop overall vision of themes.
- Good understanding of the important engines and accords available in the category.
- Business Acumen
- Maintain good overview on the relationship between creative process, decisions, cost, product performance and constraints in developing fragrances.
- Understand the economics of raw materials as they impact cost guidelines and price sensitivity of clients' briefs/demands.
- Articulation of creative decisions on projects for focus on creativity and cost to serve.
Job Requirements

- At least 5-7 years of fragrance industry and evaluation experience.
- Excellent olfactive expertise (selected candidates may need to complete an olfactory smelling test).
- Ability to effectively identify potential fragrances based on market relevance.
- Manage the execution of the olfactive strategy by providing creative direction and guidance in order to stimulate creativity.
- Solid understanding of functional and technical capabilities, including knowledge of the consumers and market needs.
- Excellent influencing skills, good business acumen and customer relationship management skills.
- Strong project management skills, disciplined and willing to embrace diversity.
- Ability to deliver in a fast changing environment with good prioritisation skills.
- Curious approach - enjoy difficult challenges.
- Capable in creating compelling communication to drive strategy.
