We currently have an exciting opportunity for a QC Shift Analyst to join the Flavours Quality team, working a rotating 2 shift pattern (Monday to Thursday: 06:00 until 14:00 or 14:00 until 22:00, Friday's: 06:00 until 11:00 or 11:00 until 16:00).
The successful candidate will perform testing for all raw materials based on the specification and inspection plan developed for each individual product. They will also be responsible for performing detailed chemical analysis of customer samples/non-conformances using laboratory equipment.
Job Requirements
- Completing a variety of analytical activities (raw material and finished product testing), to ensure analysis meets department agreed KPI’s. Laboratory processes can include: GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC, Karl Fisher Titration (KF), UV spectroscopy, Particle size analysis, Steam distillation, Fat extraction, Metrohm autotitrator operation and pH determination.
- Ensuring that laboratory equipment is maintained in good order to ISO17025 requirements using statistical techniques where applicable.
- Ensuring that adequate and updated working methods are in place.
- Maintaining QM (Quality Module) master data (so that materials are tested against the current IFF specification and that CofA’s etc are not blocked).
- Performing detailed chemical investigations into internal and external non-conformance, including identifying root cause and establishing preventative actions.
- Detail rework requirements for failures.
- Ensuring that laboratory supplies are adequate.
Required Experience
- Prior laboratory and chemical analysis experience within a food or related industry.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Science related field (chemistry, biology, food science etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of SAP functionality and IFF customer profiles.
