As part of its ongoing growth, they're looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join a close-knit finance team, offering the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and develop into a Management Accountant over time.
The Opportunity
Working closely with senior members of the finance team, you'll become involved in the month-end process, financial reporting and balance sheet management, whilst supporting multiple entities across the wider business.
The role offers excellent exposure across finance and would suit someone who enjoys understanding the numbers, improving their technical accounting knowledge and taking ownership of their work.

- What you'll be doing
- Preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing the trial balance and nominal ledger
- Producing and posting month-end journals
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparing VAT returns
- Supporting the accounts for smaller overseas entities
- Providing purchase and sales ledger support where required
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation
- Producing financial reports and analysis for the wider finance team
- Supporting the Head of Finance on a variety of ad hoc projects
About you
This role would suit someone who is keen to continue developing their accounting career and is looking for a business that will invest in their progression.
You’ll ideally have
- AAT qualification
- Around three years' experience within a finance role, and have gained exposure to accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills
- A solid understanding of month-end accounting processes
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
