NATURE OF WORK
Responsible for the repair, calibration, and installation of electrical instrumentation, and control devices or systems of IFF. Also provides maintenance assistance on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, calibration, repairs, rebuilds, and proper installation of new electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment, ensuring safety and proper record keeping.
- Support other departments by troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation equipment failures and providing input to resolve process issues or design deficiencies.
- Document preventive maintenance, spare parts, and calibration schedules.
- Perform mechanical repairs and inspections as needed.
- Update equipment history files, note changes or modifications on wiring diagrams, schematics, or P&ID drawings, and maintain spare parts logs.
- Maintain a clean work area and assist in cleaning the shop.
- Communicate pending work or issues to management or the next shift technician.
- Ensure compliance with management systems including ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and Food Safety policies, and understand DuPont's quality and environmental policies.
- Enter, reference, and close out maintenance work orders in the host system.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Adhere to policies regarding a drug-free workplace.
- Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must have at least two years of plant maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work. Knowledge of electrical codes is encouraged. Ability to work independently, with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work overtime and off-hours as needed.
SCOPE OF POSITION
Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Duties may be updated at management's discretion.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Operates in a production/plant environment full-time. Exposure to hazardous materials requires training.
