Job Purpose: The Air Export Operator role involves developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers and ensuring seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders. In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the job description, the employee may be required to take on additional duties as needed to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Export Operations Management
- Coordinate air freight shipments from UK to destination, ensuring timely and efficient processes.
- Arrange bookings with airlines to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure Estimated Costs and Sales are up to date.
- Monitor the progress of shipments, resolving any delays or issues promptly.
- Handle special export requirements such as hazardous materials, oversized cargo, or perishable goods.
- Prepare and review export documentation, including airway bills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and airline policies.
- Manage export customs declarations using CDS.
- Adhere to procedures for restricted or hazardous materials, ensuring proper documentation and labelling.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding export shipments, providing updates and resolving queries.
- Coordinate with internal teams, freight forwarders, and carriers to streamline export operations.
- Communicate with overseas agents and offices to ensure seamless delivery and compliance.
- Provide quotations for potential and existing customers, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing.
- Track and report on shipment performance metrics, including transit times, costs, and service levels.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of export transactions for audit and reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in managing export shipments from start to finish.
- Knowledge of international regulations, customs compliance, and shipment documentation.
- Experience with arranging bookings with airlines, couriers, and logistics providers.
