Our objectives are to
- Provide an inclusive, safe and suitable venue for badminton in Northern Ireland.

- Duration: Temporary / As Required
- Responsible For: Up to 14 Junior Players (Ages 10–16) and Assistant Coach
- Rates of Pay
- Assistant Coach: £15 per hour

Job Purpose
To plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality badminton coaching sessions for players aged 10–16 years of varying abilities, following the Tecnic Programme developed by Badminton Ireland.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and deliver coaching sessions for beginners through to advanced players.
- Develop training plans aligned with the Badminton Ireland Tecnic Programme.
- Support players in improving technique, tactical awareness, fitness and competition readiness.
- Monitor and evaluate player development and progress.
- Provide feedback to parents where appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, volunteers and club officials.
- Report programme progress and outcomes to the Club Committee.
- Support club events, competitions and promotional activities as required.
- Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, inclusive and positive coaching environment.
- Follow the club safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Report safeguarding concerns to the Club Safeguarding Officer.
- Maintain appropriate supervision and risk assessment during all activities.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all coaching sessions.
- Professional Development
- Maintain current coaching qualifications and safeguarding certifications.
- Participate in continuing professional development opportunities.
- Keep up to date with best practice guidance from governing bodies and sporting organisations.
- Other Duties
- Support and promote the aims and values of International Badminton Club Belfast.
- Represent the club professionally at all times.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the role.
- Legal & Compliance
This post is a Previously Controlled Activity Position under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007.
The club complies with all relevant legislation relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
- Experience delivering badminton coaching sessions.
- Knowledge of badminton techniques, coaching methods and rules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop young players.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
- Badminton coaching qualification recognised by the Badminton World Federation or relevant governing body.
- Experience working with junior players aged 10–16.
- Experience organising badminton events or competitions.
- Additional Requirements
- Satisfactory Access NI criminal record check.
- Keeping Children & Adults Safe training (the club may be able to arrange training if certification is not currently held).
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
