About the job
The Technical Engineering Lead is responsible for the technical implementation, evolution, and quality of the organisation’s CMS and content-centric platforms. The role combines hands-on full-stack development with technical leadership, guiding a team of developers and ensuring robust, scalable, and sustainable CMS solutions aligned with architectural standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as engineering lead for the CMS platform, providing hands-on development and technical leadership
- Drive technical execution, quality, and consistency across CMS development
- Design, develop, and maintain CMS backend services and user-facing applications
- Define and evolve coding standards, development practices, and technical guidelines
- Review code and mentor developers to support continuous skill development
- Collaborate with software and solution architects to align implementation with architecture
- Design content structures, schemas, and models supporting long-term reuse and evolution
- Own CMS integrations, content processing pipelines, and platform stability
- Identify and mitigate technical risks across the CMS platform
- Contribute to roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Extensive experience with headless CMS platforms and content-centric systems
- Proven full-stack development experience across backend and frontend technologies
- Experience acting as a technical or engineering lead within a development team
- Strong expertise in content structures, schemas, and markup-based modelling
- Understanding of editorial workflows and content lifecycles
- Ability to translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience with AI agent development
