About the Job
The Production Designer is part of our Exam Publishing Department who are responsible for designing and developing traditional and digital assessment material. The Production Designer is accountable for managing the visual design and production of IB assessments and related material in line with IB standards and quality, including the creation of Korean language assessments alongside materials in a wide range of other languages.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately develop, build and amend IB assessments and related material, with a focus on layout clarity, accessibility and accuracy.
- Design, create and edit images, illustrations, graphics and other visual elements in line with house style, for use in assessments and related material.
- Maintain and develop templates and design specific style guides ensuring assessments are consistent and created in line with our organization, subject and language specific guides.
- Offer support and guidance to the publishing team in the analysis and resolution of technical issues.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders, offer advice on the design and layout of IB assessments.
- Assist with the integration of new systems, software and working practices.
About You
Essential:
- Excellent skills in using Adobe Creative Suite, in particular InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular MS Word.
- An exceptional eye for detail and meticulous accuracy.
- Strong design and technical skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and a diligent approach to working autonomously.
- Capacity to proactively manage changing priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced communication skills and the ability to effectively provide solutions to technical challenges.
- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, or experience of working within a relevant professional environment, including experience in a graphic design, art-worker and/or technical illustrator role.
- Strong typographical knowledge.
- Ability to work under pressure within a flexible working environment.
- An excellent command of the English language.
Desirable:
- Experience of typesetting in the Korean, Chinese, Japanese version of InDesign.
- Written fluency in Korean would be highly desirable.
- Written fluency in French, Spanish and/or Japanese.
- Experience of multi-media such as Adobe Audition software.
- Experience working with HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
- Experience with technical illustration and/or creating material for the sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics).
