About the job

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical implementation, evolution, and quality of the organisation’s CMS and content-centric platforms. The role combines hands-on full-stack development with technical leadership, guiding a team of developers and ensuring robust, scalable, and sustainable CMS solutions aligned with architectural standards.

Responsibilities

  • Act as engineering lead for the CMS platform, providing hands-on development and technical leadership
  • Drive technical execution, quality, and consistency across CMS development
  • Design, develop, and maintain CMS backend services and user-facing applications
  • Define and evolve coding standards, development practices, and technical guidelines
  • Review code and mentor developers to support continuous skill development
  • Collaborate with software and solution architects to align implementation with architecture
  • Design content structures, schemas, and models supporting long-term reuse and evolution
  • Own CMS integrations, content processing pipelines, and platform stability
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks across the CMS platform
  • Contribute to roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with headless CMS platforms and content-centric systems
  • Proven full-stack development experience across backend and frontend technologies
  • Experience acting as a technical or engineering lead within a development team
  • Strong expertise in content structures, schemas, and markup-based modelling
  • Understanding of editorial workflows and content lifecycles
  • Ability to translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience with AI agent development
