The Digital Assessments Operations Associate Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in driving change and innovation across assessment delivery. Working at the intersection of Digital Assessment and Assessment and Operations, you will help embed digital solutions into business as usual processes, ensuring they are implemented smoothly, securely, and effectively.
The Digital Assessments Operations Associate Manager will understand the details and influence decisions relating to the digital assessment solutions in the context of operational processes, policies and teams within Assessment and Operations. The role will work closely with Digital Assessment Delivery Senior Manager and the broader programme team, to ensure that there is a tight grip on changes and impacts as a result of digital assessment transformation for operational teams and that change impacts are planned for and supported as part of the implementation for business readiness.
The post holder will represent the interests of these teams, ensuring the digital assessment and project team is cognizant of current operational processes and the impact of any proposed changes to support future processes whilst ensuring the integrity and security of the examination session. The Digital Assessments Operations Associate Manager will create an environment to maintain a positive, productive, and efficient working culture across their team. The post holder has line management accountability for Team Leaders and Analysts and is responsible for the delivery of operational activities and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Assessment and Operations and digital assessment teams.
- Manage the well-being, support, performance, development, and day-to-day line management of a team of Team Leaders and Analysts, tasked with providing specialised Tier 2 support to DPCP schools during examination sessions.
- Deputise for the Digital Assessment Delivery Senior Manager in their absence.
- Represent Assessment and Operations teams on the digital assessment project, ensuring the impact on operational workflow and resources is considered at all levels, and enhancing the understanding of current operations work and procedures.
- Manage and resolve issues that may impact operational workflow or procedures, identifying mitigation strategies and solutions.
- In collaboration with the digital assessment team, coordinate the integration of digital assessment workstreams into existing operations, maintaining business continuity.
- Manage the successful implementation of digital assessment standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the Operations team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to ensure the successful delivery of BAU and digital assessment activities.
- Provision training for internal colleagues and collaborate with Communications and Customer Service teams to ensure that schools have the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Qualifications
- Experience of managing a diverse team in a dynamic environment and the ability to achieve results through effective line management of others.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and build strong relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- The ability to work independently under pressure, responding effectively to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience managing a high workload, prioritising effectively, and working in smart, focused ways.
- A clear understanding of digital assessment operational best practice.
- A degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience).
- The ability to make decisions for the team while collaborating with senior colleagues to determine impacts and solutions.
- A problem-solving mindset, with experience investigating system, process, or service issues and contributing to effective, preventative solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to identify needs, gather requirements, and translate them into action.
- The confidence to be decisive on matters that affect the project and assess their impact.
- Energy, focus, and resilience to deliver high-quality outcomes to tight deadlines.
Occasional weekend working is essential in April, May, October and November, along with the ability to work flexibly across time zones to meet business needs. Provision of on-call support (outside normal working hours) will be required during the examination weeks.
