About the Job

The Assessment Quality Officer is part of the team responsible for quality assuring IB assessments worldwide. You will be one of three officers responsible for quality assuring assessments. You will interpret assessment data to make decisions that ensure high levels of quality assurance. You will work closely with the other two officers to ensure a consistent standard of decision making. You will be a member of the Assessment Quality team which is part of the Assessment Principles and Practice department within the Assessment Division. The Assessment Division is responsible for ensuring that the May and November examination sessions are properly delivered and that candidate results are accurate, appropriate and released on time.

  • Interpret assessment data to make decisions that ensure fair outcomes for candidates
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach
  • Provide information and guidance about assessment to colleagues and schools
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes

About You

  • A degree in Mathematics or subject with mathematical content, or proven experience of analysing data
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Evidence of clear and effective spoken and written communication on complex, technical matters
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet a deadline
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance of own work
  • Ability to build reports in Power BI is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work in French or Spanish is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumnus is desirable but not essential

Other Special Requirements:

A small amount of weekend working will be necessary during the examination sessions.

Please note that in September 2025 our Cardiff Office will relocate to Fusion Point One, Dumballs Road, Cardiff, CF10 5BF. The building is a 5-minute walk from Cardiff Central Station and a 10-minute walk to the city centre. Our new offices will have 60 parking spaces available which will be reservable online.
