Main missions and results:

  • The supervision of direct labour across the area assigned to.
  • Guidance of indirect labour such as Forklift Truck drivers and technicians to ensure all processes are kept running to their optimum capability.
  • Assist in achieving and maintaining production specific objectives and targets set for the production department.
  • Hourly monitoring and completion of pace boards across all processes.
  • Adherence to the company escalation procedures in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in the completion of production reports.
  • Counter Counter-signing production intent 1st offs to comply with customer-specific quality expectations in line with IAC procedures.
  • Ensure that the quality of product leaving designated cells and production lines is in accordance with pre-determined standards.
  • Hourly production audits to ensure adherence to process in terms of operation, training, following SOI’s, awareness of quality alerts relevant to the product and packing in accordance with instructions.
  • Completion of training matrices to be kept up to date on a shift-by-shift basis including all required evidence.
  • Monitoring of adherence to plan on an hourly basis and escalating where necessary any issues to Shift Management.
  • Full accountability for housekeeping within designated pre-determined area of ownership to the highest standards.
  • Play an active role in the implementation of the Corporate IPS initiative in line with the operations CI roadmap and master improvement schedule.
  • Carry out process audits in line with the audit confirmation schedule and close out any resulting non-conforming results.
  • Present daily production results to both peers and management representatives.
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of employees who are assigned to your team.
  • Ensuring all non-conforming product in your assigned area is both accounted for and accurately recorded on relevant booking sheets.
  • Prompt response and assigned actions to any Health, Safety and Environmental issues, accidents or near misses in your area, including timely accident reporting and investigation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all direct reports wear and use PPE correctly.
  • Lead 8D problem solving and resolution teams in your area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for adherence to any 5S procedures implemented in your area.
  • Leading & developing direct reports in their sphere of operation and the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Managing absence, performance and conduct for all direct reports, including responsibility for monitoring direct reports’ KPIs.
  • Any other projects or tasks assigned to you by your Management team.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Relevant qualification in Team Leading such as ILM2 TL Diploma is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced automotive environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all Levels.
  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Computer literate: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of IATF 16949/ ISO 9001 quality standards.
