The Recorded Sound Section in the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division of Library Services is responsible for the acquisition, processing, preservation, collection maintenance, and reference services for the Library\’s recorded sound collection. The Section Head is responsible for the management and direction of the Section, setting priorities, directing the work activities of Section staff (both government and contract), and managing the technical and financial resources allocated to the Section to achieve its goals. Oversees all acquisition, processing, preservation prioritization, reference, and exhibition activities of the Section and serves as the Library\’s principal specialist in recorded sound, responsible for implementing the digital preservation of audio materials.
