Cardiff University is seeking a Support Analyst/Developer to join the team responsible for Microsoft Dynamics solutions and M365, with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights.
Responsibilities
- Support internal teams and external partners in developing, maintaining, and providing technical support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights solutions, including reviewing partner proposals and responding to support requests.
- Act as a key member of the professional service delivery team, ensuring efficient, effective, and quality-driven IT services for staff and students across all university functions.
- Specify, design, develop, integrate, test, and document large or complex systems, applying appropriate design standards, methods, and tools consistent with enterprise and solution architectures.
- Review and validate system designs, ensuring technology choices, resource utilisation, and integration meet functional, service-quality, and systems-management requirements.
- Define user and system interfaces, including validation procedures, processing rules, access, security, audit controls, and recovery or contingency procedures.
- Utilise application management software to investigate issues, collect performance statistics, and produce reports.
- Prioritise and manage workload effectively, responding promptly to new requirements, and facilitate service transition to operational teams as required.
- May involve line-management and leadership responsibilities for staff supporting technical and functional solutions within the role holder’s technical domain.
Qualifications
- Administrative experience with large-scale IT systems in a large organisation, in a technical support or development role.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft tools; either an expert in supporting these technologies or a demonstrable interest in transitioning technical expertise into this area.
- Experience dealing with external suppliers providing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SaaS-based solutions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced academic environment and able to build strong, effective working relationships within a wider IT team.
- Willingness and capability to develop expertise in the technologies used and support the transition of services to operational teams.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: £41,064 – £46,049 per annum (Grade 6).
- Full-time, fixed-term contract for 12 months covering maternity leave.
- 37 days annual leave per annum and a generous pension scheme.
