Cardiff Professional Legal Studies (CPLS) is the department within the School of Law and Politics which currently offers the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), Solicitors Practice Course (SPC) and Bar Training Course (BTC) – postgraduate routes to professional qualification for solicitors and barristers. Cardiff University is the only Russell Group University to offer all these courses. CPLS also provides nationwide assessment of Duty Solicitors, Police Station Representatives, and expert witnesses. Its courses – delivered by professionally qualified staff – are well established, highly regarded within the profession and command excellent levels of satisfaction from students.
Responsibilities
- Teach all CPLS programmes, focusing on the courses delivered by CPLS.
- Teach one or more vocational modules on the BTC and the SPC – essential.
- Deliver legal skills training.
Job Details
- Full time (35 hours per week), open ended, available immediately; part-time considered on a needs basis.
- Salary: £51,039 – £55,755 per annum (Grade 7).

- Suitably qualified lecturer with ability to teach vocational modules on BTC and SPC, and experience delivering legal skills training.
