Position Overview

Teacher in Sedimentology and Sedimentary Systems – School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Cardiff University. Full‑time (35 hours per week), 6‑month fixed‑term appointment starting 1 September 2026. Salary band £41,064 – £46,049 per annum (Grade 6).

Responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Earth and Environmental Sciences, including supervision of undergraduate and masters thesis students.


• Contribute to education and scholarship in sedimentology and sedimentary systems, covering topics such as sedimentary facies analysis and geodynamics.


• Participate in residential Earth Science field courses, local day field trips, seminars, team work and project work supervision.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification and experience in sedimentology or a related field.


• University‑level teaching experience.


• Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary education and scholarship.
