InterMoor are looking to source a Project Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, the Project Engineer will contribute to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective planning and execution of InterMoor's projects through tender development, leading engineering work packages, procedural development, and offshore execution. The role holder will be responsible for providing technical input in regards to the installation/changeout of mooring systems associated with permanent mooring systems and provide technical development and project coordination for mooring installation and changeout activities associated with permanent floating structures.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
- Onshore
- Contribute to the technical response for project tenders and assist in commercial aspects.
- Responsible for the delivery of engineering deliverables in support of the specific projects either independently or through management of internal/external resources.
- Responsible for the development of operational procedures for utilisation offshore including step by step methodology, rigging arrangements and lifting plans.
- Development of procedural sketches in conjunction with design department.
- Identification of equipment requirements for projects, including rigging design, and interface with sales/rental departments for procurement/delivery.
- Responsible for the development of mobilisation/demobilisation plans.
- Create, maintain, and report on project schedules as required.
- Attend meetings with clients and sub-contractors.
- Actively participate in HIRAs and QHSE related activities.
- Produce scopes of work for sub-contractors.
- Offshore
- Report to onshore management.
- Oversee vessel mobilisations/de-mobilisations.
- Assist the offshore supervisors in the management of sub-contractors and the execution of the project.
- Perform on site calculations as required.
- Oversee deck operations ensuring that procedures are followed and relevant information is recorded.
- Ensure IM and vessel safety policy and processes are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure all required information is recorded/collected for completion of as-built documentation/post job report.
Required
- Degree in engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with mooring systems for the Energy Industry - Oil and Gas or Renewables.
- Experience in design/installation of permanent mooring systems for units such as FPSOs, FSOs, FSUs, FWTs, or CALM buoys etc.
- Offshore experience as a project engineer for installation projects.
- Experience in development of offshore operational procedures for mooring installation/changeout.
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Offshore BOSIET medical and survival certificates is preferred.
- Experience in installation of flexible risers/umbilicals would be an advantage.
- Experience in installation analysis is desirable.
- Experience in the use of Orcaflex.
- Experience in tender development including method statements, scheduling, and financial estimates/calculations is preferred.
