This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing global Infrastructure team at ICG, working closely with numerous internal and external stakeholders. You will get unique exposure to the full range of activities it takes to deliver a successful fund, from fund structure, LP onboarding, key fund reporting, as well as supporting deal closings and exits. To excel, you will have a strong understanding of core fund accounting responsibilities, the ability to multitask and strong relationship-building skills.

Summary of our opportunity:

This role will join 3 others in the Infrastructure Fund Accounting team – including 2 based in India who this role will oversee in terms of their day-to-day deliverables. The role reports to the Strategy Lead and is responsible for the financial control and management of the financial reporting process for the Infrastructures Funds (currently three Funds plus associated vehicles across Europe & Asia). The role involves co-ordination and interaction internally at ICG with deal operations and investment teams, client services group, tax, fund structuring, and group finance, as well as multiple external stakeholders, such as fund administrators, auditors, Boards of Directors, and investors.

Primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Fund Accounting and Investor Reporting: Responsible for delivering the quarterly financial, investor, and regulatory reporting for all Infrastructure Funds. Responsible for managing the annual financial statement production across the Infrastructure Funds and the external audit process. Including documentation of any technical accounting matters.
  • Oversee day-to-day responsibilities of accounting team in India – including review of work produced, managing priorities, any queries and acting as 1st point of escalation.
  • Monitor the compliance of the Fund LPA and side letter agreements.
  • Manage Fund cash and liquidity, including bridge facilities, treasury positions and counterparty exposure, working alongside Fund Controllers / Strategy Lead.
  • Oversee the accurate capture of Fund expenditure and recharges processed by the Administrator and India team members.
  • Perform ongoing and ad hoc analysis of Fund performance, calculation of Fund IRR’s, Carried Interest, and other Fund performance measures to ensure investor reporting is accurate and current.
  • Liaising with investor relations on any Fund/Investor performance requests and track record updates.
  • Work with Group Finance team to review and approve management fees and report AUM/FUM data.
  • Deal Financing: Collaborate with deal team, transaction execution, tax, and external advisors to understand the deal pipeline, manage the funds' flow model (including understanding tax structuring and ensuring this is reflected by the funding instruments utilised) and investor notices for all investments and divestments, including carry considerations.
  • Valuation: Review and understand the detail behind the valuation and other valuation information from the CIO office for all investments, including presenting to Group Finance, Valuation Committee, GP Boards and answering queries.
  • Fund Administrator Oversight: Manage the quality and timeliness of deliverables from Fund Administrators (daily). Engage with Administrator onsite visits, due diligence, assessments and feedback against SLAs and KPIs. Provide the Administrator with appropriate direction and briefing to ensure they can accurately carry out their responsibilities.
  • Continual Change: Championing and being a positive advocate of process enhancement and ensuring adequate process documentation and control for your areas of responsibility to an auditable standard.

Key Requirements/Qualifications:

You will have demonstrable experience of:

  • Essential: BSc/Ba - Preferably with ACA, CIMA, ACCA. Extensive experience working at an Asset Manager, Fund Administrator, or top tier Accounting & Consulting firm. Strong knowledge of fund financials and reporting matters. Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, and strong PowerPoint. Experience of managing people and projects. Technical knowledge of IFRS and Lux GAAP.
  • Desirable: Thorough understanding of carry structures and waterfalls. Experience of complex private equity fund performance measurement and reporting matters. Understanding of financial instruments across the capital structure (especially Luxembourg structures). Experience delivering through Fund Administrators.
