The Role

Interlinx is currently seeking an experienced M&E Project Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in the Southeast.

This is a permanent, site-based position with responsibility for overseeing the delivery of MEP and Low Voltage (LV) works across a complex construction environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project management, engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure works are delivered safely, to programme, and in accordance with the required quality and technical standards.

The role will suit an experienced M&E professional who is comfortable working in a site environment and taking ownership of MEP packages from installation through to completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of MEP and LV installation works on site.
  • Manage day-to-day engineering activities associated with MEP packages.
  • Review drawings, specifications, technical submissions, and installation requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and specialist MEP contractors.
  • Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays or technical issues.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers and wider engineering team.
  • Ensure installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
  • Review and resolve technical queries, RFIs and site issues.
  • Assist with the planning and sequencing of MEP works.
  • Carry out regular inspections to ensure works are being delivered to the required quality.
  • Monitor testing, inspection, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, and technical documentation.
  • Support the preparation and review of method statements, ITPs, and other project documentation.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Assist with snagging, completion, and handover of MEP systems.

About You

We are looking for an experienced M&E Project Engineer / Electrical Project Engineer with a strong background in MEP delivery, ideally gained on large-scale construction, infrastructure, energy or industrial projects.

You will ideally have

  • Experience delivering or overseeing LV electrical and MEP works.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation and MEP coordination.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and specialist contractors.
  • Good understanding of testing, inspection, and commissioning processes.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues on site.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
  • Relevant electrical/engineering qualifications are desirable.
