Our client, a rapidly growing principal contractor delivering some of the UKs most exciting design-and-build projects, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based near Glasgow. This role is predominantly office and site based, working five days per week.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management, contract administration, cost control, and project support to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities- Preparing interim applications for payment and managing final accounts.
- Overseeing contract administration, including cost control, pricing variations, and dispute resolution.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, certifying payments, and agreeing subcontract terms.
- Issuing early warning notices relating to changes affecting cost or programme.
- Conducting site visits, attending client meetings, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, company procedures, and health & safety standards.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery across cost, quality, and programme objectives.
- Have experience within quantity surveying, ideally in railway construction, civils or related infrastructure sectors.
- Possess strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, and other standard forms of contract.
- Be confident interpreting complex structural and architectural drawings.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Be proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
