An Elite US Firm in London are looking to hire a Private Equity (Lawyer) Associate to join their London office. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising private equity clients across the full lifecycle of investments, from acquisition through to exit. You will work closely with partners and senior associates on sophisticated cross-border transactions and take on significant responsibility from an early stage.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support on private equity transactions, including leveraged buyouts, growth investments, and exits
- Advise private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on corporate matters
- Draft and negotiate transaction documentation, including SPAs, shareholder agreements, and financing-related documents
- Manage due diligence processes and coordinate multi-jurisdictional workstreams
- Liaise directly with clients, financial advisers, and opposing counsel
- Supervise and mentor junior associates and trainees
- Support business development initiatives, including pitches and client relationship management
Qualifications
- England & Wales qualified (or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
- Typically 2–6 years’ PQE, with strong private equity / M&A experience from a leading international or US law firm
- Demonstrated experience acting for private equity sponsors on complex transactions
- Strong technical drafting skills and commercial awareness
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong academic background
