We are seeking a talented and motivated Restructuring & Insolvency Associate (1โ3 PQE) to join our growing London team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on complex, cross-border restructurings, special situations and insolvency matters for a diverse, high-profile client base. You will collaborate with market-leading practitioners and gain exposure to sophisticated financing instruments and multi-jurisdictional proceedings in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Advise on a broad range of restructuring, special situations and insolvency matters, including distressed debt, creditor-led restructurings, company-side mandates and cross-border insolvency issues.
- Work with key financing instruments such as syndicated bank loans, high-yield debt, intercreditor arrangements and other capital-structure components.
- Support clients through restructuring-related processes, including schemes of arrangement, restructuring plans, administration and insolvency filings across various jurisdictions.
- Draft, negotiate and review restructuring documentation, term sheets, security packages, forbearance agreements and related instruments.
- Manage workstreams with a high level of ownership while collaborating closely with partners, senior lawyers and other stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Engage directly with clients, advisors and counterparties to drive matters efficiently and deliver commercial solutions.
- Contribute to internal knowledge development, mentor junior colleagues and participate in business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- England & Wales qualified solicitor with 1โ3 yearsโ post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience across restructuring, insolvency and special situations work with exposure to a varied client base.
- Solid understanding of key financing instruments, including bank debt, high-yield bonds and intercreditor arrangements.
- Experience handling cross-border restructuring-related proceedings and multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with a track record of managing significant responsibility early in your career.
- Intellectually strong, commercially minded and able to navigate complex legal and financial issues.
- Enthusiastic, committed and versatile, with strong teamwork skills and a personable, collaborative approach.
