Job Description
Interior Icons | London W10, hybrid 3 days/week | Β£45,000βΒ£55,000 DOE + uncapped performance bonus | Full-time | Reports to the Founder
About us Interior Icons sells designer-inspired furniture to customers across the USA. We are a small, founder-led online business: one channel, one market, and a product range decided entirely by data, not opinion. Our mission is to make iconic design accessible to everyone.
We sell replica furniture, proudly. If that is not for you, this role is not for you.
The role You will own new products end to end: from researching the next design, through product imagery and launch, to sourcing, quoting and the first stock order. You are the first stage of how this company grows.
What you'll do:
- Research iconic and trending designs and build a pipeline of launch candidates
- Create product imagery using AI tools
- Set up new products across our online store and advertising, and act fast on how they perform
- Handle sourcing: get quotes from factories in Asia; negotiate when they're too high
- Run product development with our external technical team for new designs; place stock orders for off-the-shelf products
- Set products up in our systems and track everything in our task management tool
- Follow our documented step-by-step processes for every stage, and improve them when you find a better way
What success looks like:
- More successful product launches, quarter after quarter
- Landed cost at or below target on every launch
Uncapped bonus As above: your bonus is tied to the performance of the products you launch, with no ceiling. Full scheme terms are set out in writing as company policy and shared at offer stage.
Must have
- Experience in furniture: product development, design, buying, production or merchandising
- A real passion for furniture and a strong eye: you know what looks good and how it fits together, and you can explain why
- Commercial and data-driven: you care whether a product sells, not just whether you like it
- Currently an individual contributor (no direct reports) and happy to stay hands-on
- Experience in a founder-led business or a company of under 50 people
- A quick learner who is comfortable following detailed written processes. You don't need to know our tools; every step is documented and we will teach you
- Organised and precise: you finish checklists, hit dates and don't drop details
- Comfortable working in a process-driven, founder-led small business where the owner is close to the detail
- Comfortable with digitally measured productivity (we use ActivTrak)
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to have
- Furniture product development, design, buying or merchandising as a primary role
- Furniture manufacturing or technical knowledge (materials, construction, tech packs)
- Experience dealing with overseas suppliers (quotes, samples, production)
- Knowledge of the US furniture market
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, online advertising or AI image tools (helpful, not required)
How we work
- Keep it simple. Do less, but better.
- Inspiration over invention. We sell proven designs; we don't design.
- Data over opinions. The test decides, not taste.
- Process over improvisation. Every process is written down; every task is tracked.
- Lean. Opex doesn't scale with revenue.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct reports. It is the right role for someone who wants to build a product machine, not manage one yet. As we grow, we will appoint a Head of Product from within.
