You will be joining our experienced and well‑established Finance team, working with our Management Accountant and three Finance Assistants.
Purpose of the Role
To drive improvements to our finance team, financial information and processes as we grow, supporting the Finance Director and other Board members in implementing effective strategies and enhancing business performance.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Produce consolidated management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheets, cash flows, margin analysis reports, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth.
- Provide month‑end and year‑end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and P&L review across all businesses.
- Key e‑commerce revenue account reconciliations, including Braintree, PayPal etc.
- Manage intercompany invoices in line with tax advice across all businesses.
- Support our Commercial Department with forecasting and budgeting as required.
- Support the Operations team with information to maintain stock integrity.
- Constantly seek ways to improve margins, reduce overheads or streamline business processes.
- Manage capital expenditure, including assessment and tracking of initiatives.
- Oversight of VAT returns for all businesses to HMRC & Irish Revenue, including preparation of a return for one of the key trading businesses.
- Manage the audit and statutory financial accounts processes.
- Own the finance procedures, standards, and timeframes for all aspects of month‑end and year‑end.
- Responsible for finance processes, controls and outputs in line with agreed strategy.
- Oversight of any National Statistics forms.
- Ad‑hoc tasks as required by the business.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
- Able to work at pace.
- Pro‑active, decisive and pragmatic.
- Strong work ethic, organised and deadline‑focused.
- Experience in manufacturing businesses.
- Able to build and maintain positive relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Advanced Excel user and experienced in other Microsoft Office packages.
- Proficient with Sage (Sage Payroll) advantageous.
