We're looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Category Manager to join an exciting and growing business based in Dunnington.

This is more than just managing a category. You'll have the opportunity to shape strategy, influence suppliers, develop ranges, identify new opportunities and help drive the continued growth of the business.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and delivering category strategies that support business growth
- Managing and developing strong relationships with key suppliers and partners
- Identifying new products, trends and opportunities within the market
- Reviewing sales, margins and category performance to maximise results
- Supporting ranging, pricing and promotional decisions
- Working closely with internal teams to deliver commercial objectives
- Using market and customer insight to identify opportunities for growth
- Developing strong supplier partnerships and negotiating commercially
- Monitoring competitor activity and keeping ahead of industry trends
- Supporting exciting projects, promotions and new initiatives
- Attending supplier meetings, events and business trips when required
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in Category Management, Buying or a similar commercial role
- Ideally experienced within retail, food or drink
- Commercially minded with a strong understanding of sales, margins and profitability
- Confident working with suppliers and negotiating effectively
- Comfortable analysing data and turning insights into action
- Creative, curious and always looking for the next opportunity
- A great communicator who enjoys working with people
- Ambitious and keen to grow with the business
