About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Dev Ops & Platform Engineer to join our engineering team and take technical ownership of our cloud platform, infrastructure and operational tooling.

You'll work alongside our software engineers to build, maintain and improve the AWS and Kubernetes platform that powers Ops Pilot, while continuing to evolve our CI/CD pipelines, observability platform, security controls and compliance processes.

This is a hands-on engineering role.

You'll combine platform engineering, infrastructure automation and software development, helping to create a reliable, secure and scalable platform that enables the whole engineering team to deliver software with confidence.

You'll be trusted to shape technical standards, improve developer experience through automation, and ensure our platform continues to support both our engineers and our customers.

Ideas carry the same weight here regardless of who they come from or how long they've been with the company.

You'll be judged on the strength of your thinking, collaboration and engineering decisions rather than your title.

Success in this role will be measured by the reliability, security and maintainability of our platform, the quality of the engineering practices you help establish, and your ability to work collaboratively across the team.

About Ops Pilot

Ops Pilot is an AI-powered observability and operational intelligence platform, helping engineering and operations teams detect, understand and resolve production issues faster while increasingly automating operational workflows.

As a team, we build and operate the same kind of platform we sell.

The operational challenges we solve internally often become the next capabilities we deliver to customers, giving every engineer the opportunity to directly influence the product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Engineering
  • Own and maintain our AWS and Kubernetes platform.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure using Open Tofu / Terraform.
  • Improve our CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Maintain and evolve our observability platform.
  • Define and maintain engineering standards for infrastructure, deployments and platform operations.
  • Monitor cloud costs and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Engineering Collaboration
  • Work closely with software engineers to improve platform capabilities and developer experience.
  • Build tooling and automation that improves developer experience and engineering productivity.
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance on infrastructure, cloud technologies and operational best practices.
  • Help establish practical engineering standards that support reliable software delivery.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Own and maintain our SOC 2 compliance programme.
  • Improve security controls and engineering best practices.
  • Work with the wider engineering team to ensure compliance activities become part of normal engineering workflows.
  • Product Engineering
  • Contribute to technical design and architecture.
  • Develop internal platform capabilities and customer-facing features for Ops Pilot.
  • Use AI-assisted development and automation where it improves engineering outcomes.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Around 4+ years' relevant experience in Dev Ops, Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure or a closely related role.

We're far more interested in your approach and trajectory than a long CV, so don't be put off if you're towards the lower end of that range.

  • A track record of helping development teams adopt new practices or ways of working.

This matters more to us than any individual technology and is something we'll explore as much in the interview as on your CV.

  • Able to influence engineering practices through collaboration, technical leadership and strong communication rather than formal authority.
  • Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes in production.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) principles and practices.
  • Experience developing production software, not just operating it.
  • CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience working within production Saa S environments.

Desirable

  • Experience with Open Tofu or Terraform.
  • Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001, ideally including coordinating or running audits.
  • Experience with the Grafana LGTM stack or similar observability platforms.
  • Experience working with multi-tenant Saa S platforms.
  • AI-assisted development or prompt engineering.

More important than any individual technology is how you approach engineering.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems properly, improving systems rather than simply maintaining them, and leaving both the platform and the engineering team in a better place than they found them.

If that sounds like you, we'd encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every technical requirement.

  • Our Tech Stack
  • Cloud & Platform: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Docker
  • Infrastructure & CI/CD: Open Tofu, Terraform, Git Hub, Git Lab
  • Observability: Open Telemetry, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir
  • Development: Go, Python, Next. js

AI Tooling: Claude, Gemini, used day to day throughout our engineering workflows.

What We Offer

  • Fully remote within the UK.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • A small engineering team of six to eight developers where you'll have genuine ownership and influence.
  • A modern cloud-native technology stack.
  • AI integrated into day-to-day engineering workflows.
  • Minimal bureaucracy and a flat engineering structure.
  • Our Interview Process

Our interview process is straightforward, usually consisting of two or three conversations with no technical coding tests.

We're far more interested in how you think, communicate and approach engineering problems than how quickly you can complete an artificial coding exercise.

If this sounds like the kind of challenge you're looking for, we'd love to hear from you.

How to prepare for a job interview at Intergral

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Intergral uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
