We have an exciting new opportunity for a HSSE Officer to join our team at Rocksavage Power Station. This role has been created as part of our strategic succession planning, ensuring a seamless transfer of knowledge from our experienced HSSE team.

The Rocksavage Team

The Rocksavage team are highly skilled and experienced individuals, all focused on continually improving the way we operate, maintain, and manage the plant. Our Reliability Improvement Program has become one of the key drivers in improving how we work. With an ingrained mindset of ‘doing the right thing every day’ we’re making great strides towards the Rocksavage vision of ‘Target 2050. Leading the way to sustainable generation.’ Our goal being to become the first hydrogen co-fired CCGT power station in the country.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with our current HSSE staff, gaining insight into the plant, processes and policies while being supported to build your confidence and technical knowledge. Over time, you\’ll take on more responsibility and play a key role in shaping the culture of HSSE excellence at Rocksavage.

You’ll Start By Getting Involved In

  • Supporting compliance with InterGen’s HSSE management systems, policies and site rules
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and leading drills and exercises
  • Assisting with internal communications, KPIs and the delivery of plant-level HSSE strategy
  • Coaching and engaging colleagues to drive strong HSSE behaviours and conversations
  • Helping to manage incident investigations, learning reviews and action tracking
  • Monitoring safety and environmental performance, identifying trends and supporting improvements
  • Supporting routine HSSE reporting, emergency drills, audits and engagement with external bodies
  • Assisting with outage support, training coordination and regulatory compliance across site
  • Collaborating with the HSSE Regional Manager on wider strategic and cross-site initiatives

This is a succession role, designed for you to grow. You’ll work closely with the HSSE Advisor, the wider team, and HSSE leadership to build your confidence and develop into a trusted subject matter expert. With the right attitude and curiosity, we’ll help you succeed.

Education/Experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety Management or equivalent – Desirable
  • Knowledge of HSSE in power generation operations and maintenance or other high hazard regulated environments (e.g. oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing)
  • Familiarity with integrated HSSE management systems and Root Cause Analysis tools and continuous improvement methods
  • Experience engaging with or presenting to regulators is a plus
