Business Support Team Member (Temp)

We’re looking for a new member of our Business Support Team to join us on a temporary basis with an immediate start. As our next Business Services Team Member , you’ll be the kind of person who spots what needs doing, takes initiative, and brings a positive, solutions-focused mindset to every task – big or small. If you’re someone who loves variety, thrives on being a reliable source of support and enjoys keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, then this is your chance to jump into a fast-paced role where your contribution at InterGen will be felt from day one.
This is a primarily office-based role due to the nature of the responsibilities, however, we’re open to candidates working 1–2 days from home per week , where appropriate. We’ll ask about your preferred working pattern as part of the application process.
The Team
The Business Support team forms an integral part of InterGen and how we operate. We are a supportive team of high performers who are driven by shared goals and a desire to succeed. The nature of this role means you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across all areas of our InterGen and regularly engage with external service providers.
Our Edinburgh office is a friendly and exciting environment enhanced with regular company-funded social events and seasonal gatherings, or time spent raising funds for our chosen charities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Administrative & Operational Support
You’ll be at the heart of our Edinburgh office operations – delivering dependable day-to-day administrative support and keeping everything running like clockwork. From coordinating meetings and managing diaries to setting up rooms with refreshments and handling mail, you’ll be the go-to person for all things office related. You’ll maintain and improve our filing systems, support governance documentation, and any other admin support when needed. Whether it’s streamlining processes or simply making sure the little things are taken care of, your attention to detail and proactive approach will make a real impact across the team.
Travel & Expenses
You’ll also play a key role in supporting our team with travel and expenses ensuring submissions are accurate and timely, and that travel bookings are made cost effectively and in line with our policies.
Front of House & Office Presence
As the friendly face of our front-of-house, you’ll welcome clients and visitors with professionalism and warmth, while handling reception duties like call management, meeting room setup, and hospitality. Your approachable presence will help foster a positive and productive office environment, making you a valued part of the team from the moment you step through the door.
Project & Process Support
You’ll have the chance to get involved in projects and process improvement initiatives across the Business Support function. This is a great opportunity to develop yourself by taking ownership of specific tasks, collaborate with colleagues, and build new skills along the way. Whether you\’re streamlining admin processes or suggesting practical improvements, your ideas and initiative will help shape how we work and make a real difference to the team.
