Our client, a world-renowned UK-based designer and manufacturer of premium high-fidelity products, is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of consumer and lifestyle audio electronics solutions. This is a hands-on engineering role perfect for someone who enjoys working close to the hardware and contributing directly to the development of high-performance audio products.
The successful candidate will work as part of a compact engineering team, contributing to electronic design tasks and leaving their mark on multiple projects across the catalogue. You will bring practical experience working with audio electronics and a genuine interest in hi-fi products and systems. While you do not need to be a dedicated audio enthusiast, you will work closely with the in-house acoustics team and develop an understanding of how electronic design decisions influence the listening experience of the end user.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the electronic design of hi-fi systems and product platforms
- Support schematic design, PCB layout review, and design updates
- Deliver assigned electronics work packages to agreed technical and schedule targets
- Adhere to project briefs and plans including working within the outlined Bill of Materials
- Assist with prototype bring-up, testing, and validation activities
- Work closely with acoustics, software, UI/UX, and product teams during development
- Document designs, test results, and engineering changes clearly and accurately
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or a relevant field
- Practical experience in audio electronics design
- Exposure to digital-to-analogue conversion, preamplifier, or power amplifier circuitry
- Experience with Class AB and/or Class D amplifier designs
- Experience working with digital circuitry including MCUs, clocks, and data interfaces
- Solid understanding of Analogue Audio design principles and architectures
- Understanding of EMC requirements, safety standards and relevant industry standards
- Experience contributing to projects within structured development environments
- Practical, hands-on approach to electronic design and problem solving
- Schematic capture and PCB layout or review experience using Altium or similar tools
- Understanding of linear power supply design fundamentals
- Ability to test, debug, and validate electronic hardware
- Awareness of how hardware design choices interact with software and firmware
- Familiarity with audio measurements and interpretation of test data
- Design experience of high power Switch Mode Power Suppliers
- Interest in learning and developing engineering best practices
