This is a components manufacturing business with operations globally providing parts and complete solutions to the aircraft, automotive, construction, electronics and medical sectors.
Purpose of the role:
The organisation is looking to develop a number of client facing planning tools to work as a specifier tool for various parts of the business including roofing solutions. These solutions will be used globally.
- Development of international digital business application tools
- Project delivery to ensure effective and timely delivery of applications
- Maintain and improve existing and future in-house web / software developments.
- First line application support for UK and international developed applications
Function:
Software development team which sits within the wider technology function.
Role Specific Accountabilities:
- Development and delivery of online application tools which are both external and internal facing
- Learn and understand the architecture of our defined technical ecommerce environment
- Work with nominated third parties to manage development support and delivery of defined scope of works
- Examine, learn and understand our current systems, web / software developments.
- Work internally with colleagues and existing 3rd parties to improve data accuracy, processes and reporting.
- Maintain business continuity of our in-house web / software developments.
- Work with end-users to discuss and understand scope of requirements to ensure the business requirements are fully supported.
- Provide end user training and support for our in-house web / software developments.
- Regularly review, report and maintain security and data integrity of our web / software developments.
- Analytical reporting using various tools.
Skills:
Essential:
- Fluent PHP developer
- MySQL and/or SQL database skills required.
- Knowledge of these additional languages desirable – HTML5 / CSS / Javascript / Jquery.
- Agile working methodology experience
- Commercial developer experience.
- Must enjoy the challenge of learning and implementing new skills and techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexible, adaptable and part of a team.
