The Opportunity

We are recruiting an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Functional Analyst for a multi-site organisation in the manufacturing and distribution sector. The business runs a mature, proven Oracle EBS estate that underpins critical workflows across finance and supply chain—supported by multiple line-of-business systems (warehouse, logistics, scanning, reporting and customer portals).

This role sits at the crossroads of business operations and technology: you’ll own functional support, drive enhancements, improve data quality, and make sure integrations and reporting remain accurate and trusted. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys solving end-to-end ERP problems—process, data, interfaces, and controls—not just “raising tickets”.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support and improve Oracle EBS and connected applications across the full change lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

Provide functional ownership and support across Oracle EBS modules such as AP, AR, GL, PO, INV, and OM (depending on your strengths).

Run requirements workshops: process mapping, gap analysis, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria.

Deliver enhancements through configuration and controlled change: value sets, descriptive flexfields (DFF), key flexfields (KFF), approvals, tax rules, and workflow updates.

Own end-to-end testing: SIT, UAT, regression planning, defect triage, and release readiness.

Manage integrations and data flows: EDI, SFTP file drops, XML/CSV interfaces, and API/service-based integrations—ensuring reconciliation, auditability, and exception handling.

Support operational processing: period-end activities, posting issues, interface failures, and transactional exceptions.

Coordinate with technical teams on RICEW changes (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Workflows) and production support.

Maintain functional documentation: process maps, configuration notes, runbooks, training materials, and change records.

Technology environment (what you’ll work with)

You’re not expected to be a developer, but you’ll be comfortable around the technical ecosystem that keeps EBS running.

Core ERP & platform components

Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS)

Oracle Database (data investigation and reconciliation with SQL)

Concurrent Manager / request sets, scheduling and output control

BI Publisher (report templates, bursting, outputs) and/or Oracle Reports

Workflow concepts (approvals, notifications, exception handling)

FNDLOAD familiarity (moving setups/config between environments)

Environment concepts: DEV/TEST/UAT/PROD, change control and release governance

Connected line-of-business systems (typical)

WMS and handheld/scanning solutions

Carrier/shipping systems (labels, manifests, tracking feeds)

Supplier/customer integrations via EDI and secure file transfer

Reporting platforms (data warehouse feeds, Power BI datasets, operational dashboards)

Skills & experience (what we’re looking for)

Strong functional experience with Oracle EBS in a live enterprise environment

Process knowledge across at least two areas (e.g. Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Inventory)

Confident running UAT and managing defects through to resolution

Strong understanding of integrations and data movement (file-based feeds, EDI, API concepts, reconciliation)

Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation discipline

Comfortable working within structured change frameworks (ITIL/Service Management or equivalent)

Highly desirable

Exposure to RICEW demand shaping and support (working with technical teams on interfaces/reports)

Familiarity with PL/SQL basics (reading logic, understanding validation points, tracing causes)

Experience with period close support and finance controls (posting, reconciliation, audit trails)

Experience in regulated/audit-driven environments (evidence trails, segregation of duties, approvals)

What success looks like in the first 90–180 days

You’ll stabilise key pain points quickly: recurring interface failures, data quality issues, or slow manual processes.

You’ll establish a clear, prioritised enhancement backlog tied to operational outcomes.

You’ll improve release confidence via stronger UAT, clearer acceptance criteria, and better documentation/runbooks.

You’ll increase trust in reporting and integrations through better reconciliation and exception management.

What we’re looking for (in plain terms)

Someone who can own Oracle EBS functionally, understand how processes connect end-to-end, and work calmly with operations, finance and technology teams to keep systems stable while delivering continuous improvement.
