The Opportunity
Interface Recruitment is hiring a Contract Project Manager Leeds £500-600 for a Financial Services client delivering a high-impact programme: migrating an end-user estate from one Managed Service Provider (MSP) to another. This is a highly controlled transition within a regulated market, where governance, auditability and risk management are just as important as delivery speed.
You’ll own the end-to-end plan and execution across people, process and technology—ensuring a clean service handover, stable operations, and strong stakeholder confidence throughout the migration.
What you’ll be doing
This is a delivery-focused contract role with heavy governance and operational coordination.
Key responsibilities
Lead an end-to-end MSP migration programme: mobilisation, discovery, transition, cutover, and steady-state handover.
Build and manage an integrated project plan across service management, infrastructure, EUC, identity, security and networking workstreams.
Coordinate the transition of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Major Incident) between MSPs, ensuring no degradation of service.
Own governance for a regulated Financial Services environment: controls, approvals, evidence, audit trails, and risk/issue management.
Run programme ceremonies and reporting: RAID, RAG, steering packs, dependency management, benefits tracking and milestone reporting.
Manage suppliers and commercial stakeholders: both MSPs, third-party vendors, and internal service owners—driving accountability to SLAs and deliverables.
Lead cutover planning: parallel running, transition runbooks, rollback planning, hypercare model and service acceptance criteria.
Ensure security and compliance alignment: ISO 27001, SOC, GDPR, access governance, privileged access, logging and monitoring handover.
Oversee end-user and service transition: comms plans, training, service desk readiness, knowledge base transfer and user adoption.
Technical & delivery scope (keyword-dense)
This MSP change typically touches multiple operational and technical areas—your role is to coordinate delivery and control risk.
Likely in-scope areas
End-user computing: Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, device builds, Intune/endpoint management
Identity & access: Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), MFA, conditional access, privileged access management
Infrastructure operations: Windows servers, patching, monitoring, backups, DR, asset management
Network & security operations: firewalls, VPN, DNS/DHCP, SIEM/SOC handover, vulnerability management
Service management: ServiceNow (or equivalent), CMDB alignment, knowledge transfer, reporting, SLA dashboards
Compliance & controls: regulated change, evidence packs, policies, audit artefacts, operational risk controls
What we’re looking for
Proven experience as a Contract Project Manager Leeds £500-600 (or similar day-rate contract PM) delivering complex IT transitions
Financial Services experience in a regulated environment (risk, controls, audit-ready delivery)
Excellent stakeholder management across IT, InfoSec, Compliance, Operations and third-party suppliers
Strong governance discipline: RAID, reporting, planning, dependency management, cutover control
Highly desirable
Experience with ITIL service transition and operational acceptance criteria
Familiarity with EUC programmes and Microsoft estates (M365, endpoint management, identity)
Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST, DORA or FCA/UK-regulatory delivery constraints (as applicable)
Delivery in complex environments with multiple vendors, tight timelines and high scrutiny
