Looking for more than just another IT support role? We're recruiting on behalf of a long-established Yorkshire manufacturer looking to strengthen its internal IT team with the appointment of an experienced IT Systems & Support Engineer. This is far more than a traditional support role. The business has a clear long-term succession plan in place and is looking for someone with the ambition and technical capability to develop into a broader IT Operations role over the next two years, working alongside an experienced IT Manager before taking on increasing responsibility. If you're looking for genuine career progression rather than simply moving sideways, this is an excellent opportunity to build your career within a stable, growing manufacturing business.
The Role
Joining a small, close-knit IT team, you'll provide day-to-day technical support whilst becoming increasingly involved in infrastructure, networking, cyber security and operational IT. Alongside you will be an experienced Business Systems Analyst responsible for ERP, MRP and wider business applications, allowing this role to focus on the operational technology estate. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of technologies and projects whilst working closely with experienced colleagues who are committed to supporting your development.

Why Apply?
- Genuine progression into an IT Operations position
- Structured succession planning over the next two years
- Broad technical exposure across infrastructure and operational technology
- Small team where your contribution is recognised
- Stable and successful manufacturing environment

- Long-term career development
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Why this opportunity?
Most IT support roles offer incremental progression. This role offers something much rarer. The business is investing in someone now, giving them the time to develop, learn the environment and build the knowledge needed to take on a much broader operational IT position in the future. If you're ambitious, technically curious and looking for your next long-term move, we'd love to hear from you.
