We are looking for talented and experienced Test Analysts to join one of our clients\’ very successful and growing teams. The post offers good career opportunities with a company that has a demonstrable track record of promoting from within. The successful candidate will join the team in further developing their market leading software. The organization has grown rapidly in the last 10 years to the point where the company is the market leader in the provision of specialist software services to the public sector, as well as expanding into other core market sectors. The applications are web based workflow solutions that include mobile apps and customer portals. They provide modern and intuitive user interfaces to support critical processes for both public sector professionals and the public. The successful candidate will play a vital role in testing solutions in a service area that is comparatively advanced in its use of technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Execution of test scripts, recording outcome of tests, escalation of defects and identified opportunities for product improvement.
  2. Hands on testing of all functional modules.
  3. Liaising with other software testers and implementation staff to facilitate the testing of software.
  4. Working closely with members of the development team in order to provide test feedback.
  5. Involvement with the creation and maintenance of suitable test environments within the offices for all software testing to take place. This includes the set-up of the software being tested and test data.
  6. Creation and maintenance of test scripts and other documentation in keeping with existing and new practices within the QA team.
  7. Assist the Help Desk team in investigating and resolving problems.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience of testing commercial applications within a busy team atmosphere.
  2. Good understanding of software testing techniques and test processes.
  3. Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing.
  4. Experience of diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving quality issues.
  5. Ability to organise, co-ordinate and prioritise day to day work load.
  6. Ability to understand software specification/requirements and to interpret acceptance criteria and derive tests accordingly.
  7. Experience of test management systems such as HP Application Lifecycle Management or Quality Centre would be beneficial.
  8. ISEB Foundation in Software Testing desirable but not essential.
  9. Experience of testing in an Agile development environment is highly desirable.
