This Global and diverse software and services company delivers their products 24/7/365 and hence data availability, security, and the ongoing development of their internal database estate is critical to the smooth running and future proofing of the business. We are currently looking for a Senior SQL DBA to provide support to ensure all databases are maintained to the highest level and analyze and provide relevant MI reports to the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to ensure that all databases are maintained to the highest level.
  • Ensure that all critical data is backed up to the relevant media and data restores are tested regularly.
  • Work closely with Development and Server teams to ensure that the best Database solutions are deployed.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises, providing database support as required.
  • Report any DR issues to the relevant departments.
  • Ensure that all Database systems are available in accordance with SLAs.
  • Ensure that databases are monitored via approved monitoring tools, reviewed, and tested on a regular basis.
  • Create and distribute all business-related MI reports within given deadlines.

Knowledge Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • In-depth SQL Server 2008/R2/2012/R2/2014 administration experience.
  • SQL Clustering.
  • Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects.
  • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide high availability.
  • Good working knowledge of T-SQL and stored procedures, views.
  • Application deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security.
  • Knowledge of SSRS 2008/R2/2012/R2/2014, deployment, and support.
  • Reporting services.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Implementing, configuring, and administrating Data Warehouse.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Staff development and knowledge transfer.
