We are looking for an Oracle DBA to work within the dedicated database team. We are looking for an Oracle Database Administratorto work within the dedicated IT team in the North West and this role will report to the IT Systems Manager.
About the role
This role will be responsible for managing and administering all of the organisation’s databases including the Windows and Linux platforms they are running on. Responsibilities will include:
- Monitor database systems to ensure environments are stable and available.
- Perform maintenance operations on Oracle databases to ensure efficient database operations.
- Backups, migrations, and restorations of Oracle databases, including Oracle APEX applications.
- Recover corrupted or lost data in test and production systems from backups.
- Develop, manage and test database and IS backups and recovery plans, ensuring written processes are in place.
- Analyse/manage capacity & performance of Oracle application databases, liaising with application developers.
- Promote / maintain data security and compliance for Oracle databases to meet compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies that support data applications.
- Maintenance of operational systems may be required outside of normal business hours.

Technical requirement:
- Oracle 12c or above database experience.
- Oracle enterprise manager maintenance and implementation
- Oracle WebLogic maintenance and implementation
- Knowledge of computer networks / protocols, including Windows & Linux operating systems and shell scripting
- Performance tuning & optimization skills
- RMAN Backup and Recovery
