Purpose of the Role:

To support the implementation of key ICT system developments within The Organisation, ensuring corporate standards are maintained and key milestones are achieved in line with agreed business deliverables. Working with the ICT and Project Manager and the outsourced Managed Service Provider to support the business in delivering key ICT business systems and service improvements.

About The Organisation:

The Organisation is one of the largest pension pools in the UK. One of eight Local Government pools, The Organisation oversees the investment of pension assets. Our customers are at the heart of what we do, delivering long-term sustainable investment outcomes for our Partner Funds. We build long-term partnerships through working collegiately, in a sustainable and transparent way. The Organisation is an FCA regulated investment company which manages the assets of its eleven Partner Funds, through both internal and external management within a number of investment vehicles, including an Authorised Contractual Scheme.

Technology & Resilience Function:

The Technology & Resilience function is defined as having several key operational functions within the Operational Executive in The Organisation. The function is responsible for providing ICT service provision, data oversight, procurement and contract management services, outsourcing oversight, organisational operating model oversight, property services, and operational resilience services. The ICT team is responsible for the management of the ICT Managed Service contract including user support, system development and delivery, corporate ICT infrastructure, information management, ICT training, and information security. The procurement and contract management team provides oversight of the procurement lifecycle by supporting contract managers to procure, manage, and oversee contracted third-party services. Operational resilience ensures the business has effective and robust controls and provisions in place to manage its business resilience including disaster recovery, business continuity, cyber security, information security, and the management of ICT material outsourcing. Data Management ensures the effective oversight and optimisation of data across the business.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience of ICT system project implementations, preferably within an outsourced environment
  • Technical experience of working within the ICT sector
  • Project experience within a multi-functional team environment with evidence of end-to-end delivery of project milestones.
  • Preparation of project test documentation as defined by project scope, supporting the PM as required.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Evidence of further development and training in ICT and/or a project management discipline.

Desirable:

  • Degree in relevant discipline
  • Project management discipline, e.g. Waterfall and/or Agile
