Based in Leeds city centre, this award-winning professional services firm is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Analyst with solid all-round support skills to join their team. You will be responsible for the provision of hardware and software infrastructure support. You will also be required to undertake various project-related tasks to ensure timely delivery of technical projects as well as the usual BAU tasks. Working within a small team of Infrastructure Analysts, you will collaborate with other teams, including IT Service Delivery, IT Security, IT Development, third-party clients, and suppliers.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide support for existing IT hardware and systems software
- Investigate relevant new technologies
- Administer, manage, and maintain core IT infrastructure systems and services, including multiple SQL server instances, Hyper-V server estate, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory (including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy), local area networks, physical and virtual desktop and server estate, NetApp storage, telephony, in-house dialler, remote access, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
- Ensure sufficient capacity for future business requirements
- Document existing and new IT infrastructure and associated processes
- Liaise and work alongside third-party service providers
- Define and implement appropriate test plans
- Proactively find resolutions to known issues and improve “first time fix” levels
- Management of security solutions, including firewalls, endpoint protection, mail filtering, and web proxies
- Proactively identify and undertake performance tuning of both hardware and software environments
- Support the Root Cause Analysis process for significant issues
- Provide the first point of contact for all IT Infrastructure related escalation
TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- A proven track record in the administration of a corporate IT environment including server, network, and storage environments
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating system roles and applications including Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, File and Print services, IIS, WSUS, and SQL Server and related security
- In-depth knowledge of server virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V (SCVMM) and VMware ESXi
- Knowledge and understanding of LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity, including firewalls
- Broad understanding of Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Working towards or holding a Microsoft certification for Windows Server operating systems (MCSA, MCITP, MCTS)
- Working knowledge of NetApp storage solutions
- Working knowledge of Noble dialler solutions
- Experience in an industry framework (ITIL, ISO 20000/27001 etc.)
