Since its establishment in 1999, IML has focused on delivering high‑quality manufactured electronic assemblies that are customised to meet client specifications. The company excels in providing comprehensive turnkey Contract Electronic Manufacturing (CEM) solutions to global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) across diverse sectors, ensuring an ideal combination of quality and value. Moreover, IML offers tailored sub‑contract manufacturing solutions for both electronic and mechanical assemblies, allowing clients to obtain a fully customised package that addresses their specific requirements. Interface Manufacturing is committed to delivering high‑quality products while fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Our team is passionate about excellence, and we are dedicated to our employees’ growth and well‑being.

Role Purpose: Monitor and control the flow of work through all stages of electronics manufacture, ensuring PCBA and system builds move efficiently from kitting to final test and dispatch. You will collaborate with the Production Supervisor and Purchasing to align material availability (components/PCBs) with the production schedule, driving OTIF performance and escalating technical or supply bottlenecks to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Flow Monitoring: Track jobs through all electronics manufacturing stages: Kitting/Stores, SMT, AOI, Conventional through‑hole assembly, inspection and Final Assembly. Maintain real‑time status of active batches and provide clear progress updates to the management team.
  • Workflow Control & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve bottlenecks (e.g., SMT machine downtime, component shortages on the line, or rework delays). Prioritise urgent fast‑track or prototype orders with the Production Supervisor. Escalate risks regarding component lead times or quality failures that threaten delivery dates.
  • Material & Supply Coordination: Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to ensure all components (BOMs) and PCBs are available before a build starts. Monitor shortage lists and ensure the floor is ready to react as soon as parts arrive.
  • Delivery Performance (OTIF): Drive corrective actions to ensure jobs meet committed ship dates. Monitor the transition of completed boards into Test and Final Inspection to prevent delays.
  • Reporting & Data Monitoring: Produce monthly OTIF and Non‑Conformance reports. Identify trends impacting production efficiency, such as recurring SMT errors or component quality issues.
  • Workflow & Documentation Control: Monitor WIP levels to understand capacity levels. Ensure critical documentation accompanies work packs.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Electronics Manufacturing Experience: Familiarity with PCBA processes (SMT, PTH, AOI) is essential.
  • Production Metrics: Good understanding of production flow and manufacturing lead times.
  • Problem Solving: Quick to react to line‑stop situations with a structured approach. Understanding production flow, OTIF, and performance metrics.
  • Strong organisational, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Confident communicator across shop floor and management.
  • Experience with IT and MRP skills for tracking and reporting.

Personal Attributes:

  • Detail Oriented: Vital for managing complex BOMs and high‑component‑count assemblies.
  • Proactive & Hands on.
  • Pressure‑Resilient: Maintains a calm, logical approach during high‑volume production periods.

Success Measures:

  • Controlled cycle times, on‑time progression from SMT through to Final Test.
  • Maintaining or exceeding target On Time in Full delivery percentages.
  • WIP Management by reducing dwell times between manufacturing stages.
  • Yield Awareness: Improved visibility on how rework impacts the overall production flow.

Inclusivity Statement: We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. If you are keen to take on this exciting opportunity, please apply by sending your CV to tim.cowell@interface-manufacturing.com.
