As a leader in wireless technology, our engineers have designed and developed a wide range of innovations that are used in wireless products and networks, from the earliest digital cellular systems to 5G and today’s most advanced Wi-Fi technologies. We are also a leader in video processing and video encoding/decoding technology, with a significant AI research effort that intersects with both wireless and video technologies. Founded in 1972, InterDigital is listed on Nasdaq.

The candidate will contribute to the development of innovative solutions, algorithms, protocols and systems addressing the challenges of future wireless systems. We are seeking a candidate to be a part of a highly skilled team of engineers/researchers responsible for developing the next generation of wireless communication technologies.

The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) unites 7 global organizations (ARIB, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI, TSDSI, TTA, TTC), and provides their members with a stable environment to produce the Reports and Specifications that define 3GPP technologies. The project covers cellular telecommunications technologies, including radio access, core network and service capabilities, which provide a complete system description for mobile telecommunications. The widely used cellular technologies 3G, 4G/LTE, and 5G NR have been developed via a global effort in 3GPP. Currently 3GPP is in the midst of developing the new generation of wireless technology, 6G.

The candidate will contribute to the team:

  • Cary out the design of 6G System Architecture and Core Network technology
  • Research, analyze and design core network architectures, interfaces and protocols for next generation networks
  • Research, analyze and design interfaces and protocols between 6G core networks and radio access networks
  • Research, analyze and design non-access stratum (NAS) protocols between user equipment and Core Network for 6G
  • Research, analyze and design AIML procedures for 6G network, and enhance 6G Network to assist AIML applications
