Our Assistant Maintenance Manager is accountable for the day‑to‑day performance of the maintenance team, the rostering of all team members to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources to consistently deliver brand standards and exceed guest expectations through service and promoting true hospitality. Working as an Assistant Maintenance Manager you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including Days, Evening & Night Shifts, over Weekdays & Weekends including Bank Holidays.
Your key accountabilities will be:
- Ensure all team members are trained and following IHG’s policies & legalities regarding Health and Safety requirements.
- Ensure all team members have the supplies to be able to deliver the tasks being set within an acceptable time.
- Conduct performance reviews, regular checks in and you will be responsible for engagement with the team for which you will have accountability.
- Lead and train the team to perform tests and keep record of routine needs.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress against performance metrics (Guest and energy metrics), within context of objectives set by Director.
- Deliver in‑the‑moment coaching to the team as well as regular individual and group training.
- Steps up to lead facilities when required.
- Ensure onboarding delivered and first 90 days colleague experience is delivered.
To be successful as our Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will need:
- Experience in people, task and time management of a similar size / environment.
- Thorough knowledge of statutory regulations ensuring the business is always operated within the law.
- Good understanding of hotel facilities and how systems work.
- Multi‑skilled in electrical, plumbing, joinery.
- Good communication skills with team members and guests.
- Able to work to and provide accurate deadlines for tasks.
- Able to demonstrate and organise tasks with other departments.
