The iconic voco Grand Central Glasgow is seeking an exceptional Director of Operations to help lead one of the city’s most historic and characterful hotels into its next chapter. About the role
As Director of Operations, you’ll be a key leader within the hotel, working in close partnership with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and shape the hotel’s strategic direction. You’ll lead across all hotel Operations, collaborating closely with Finance, HR and Commercial, ensuring operational excellence, strong financial performance, and consistently brilliant guest experiences. A visible and inspiring presence, you’ll coach and develop department leaders, build high-performing teams, and confidently lead through change always keeping people and guests at the heart of every decision. You will also build strong internal and external relationships, champion continuous improvement and help position voco Grand Central as a standout destination in the Glasgow market.
Key responsibilities
- Proven experience as a Director of Operations (or equivalent) within an upscale or premium hotel environment
- Strong Food & Beverage leadership experience, ideally within a multi-venue operation
- A strategic, guest-first mindset with experience working in a branded hotel environment
- A hands-on, visible leadership style—someone who leads by example, is passionate about developing others and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves
- A genuine pride in team success, collaboration and creating memorable guest experiences together
