ICE Environmental Market hosts trading of futures and options contracts based on a variety of environmental commodity markets globally, including the world’s most liquid carbon market - the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. The products are traded on ICE Futures Europe, ICE Endex and ICE Futures US and cleared at ICE Clear Europe. ICE is the world’s largest environmental marketplace, and the annual notional trading value of the environmental portfolio has exceeded $1 trillion dollars in each of the last 4 years.

The Senior Sales Analyst, Environmental Markets position will support the sales, marketing and development of ICE’s environmental trading operations. The role will focus on growing transaction volume in existing products as well as supporting the development of new products. The candidate will work closely with existing ICE environmental and business development teams across the globe to establish and build relationships to attract and retain business and successfully reflect the ICE value proposition. This position is an opportunity to facilitate decarbonisation through the pricing of positive and negative externalities. As these markets scale, the Sales Analyst, Environmental Markets will play an integral role in helping customers manage their price risk across environmental commodities. Thoughtful contract design together with analytical and regulatory expertise in environmental policy and market design are key deliverables in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with key market participants
  • Provide informed support for existing and prospective trading firms
  • Modify existing and design new contracts to ensure a relevant product suite
  • Analyze cash market structures to assess the viability for new products
  • Liaise closely with the business development team to assist in the launch of new products
  • Represent ICE externally to market participants, industry associations and regulatory bodies

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years’ work experience; Masters or professional degree a plus; Environmental science or policy experience or a behavioral economics background a plus
  • Proximity to environmental markets or in adjacent financial markets or fintech
  • Proven relationship building skills
  • Understanding of hedging, structured transactions, cap and trade, carbon credits and renewable energy credit trading programs
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple objectives with tight deadlines and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and listening skills a must, with an intellectual curiosity to think again and challenge the status quo
  • Strong writing skills and marketing experience
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • A motivated self-starter and team player

Schedule

This role is based in London but has an expectation of frequent travel to visit market participants and attend industry events.
