About The Role

Keep projects moving. Support great delivery. Start your Project Management career with Intercity. At Intercity, great technology delivery doesn’t happen by accident; it’s driven by well-managed projects, clear communication, and people who care about doing things properly. We’re looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our Professional Services team, supporting the delivery of IT infrastructure and security projects across our customer base. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their project management career who wants real responsibility, real customers, and real development in a supportive environment. If you’re organised, proactive, and enjoy seeing projects through from start to finish, this could be the perfect next step.

As a Junior Project Manager at Intercity, you’ll work as part of a dynamic team delivering our portfolio of security, network, management and intelligence solutions. You’ll support the planning, coordination and day-to-day delivery of multiple projects, working closely with customers, internal technical teams, and experienced Project Managers who will guide and support your development. This is a client-facing role, giving you exposure to the full project lifecycle in a fast-moving IT environment, with the opportunity to grow your confidence, capability and commercial awareness over time.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the delivery of customer projects, helping to keep activities on track, on time and well-communicated.
  • Assisting with the implementation of Intercity’s solutions and services across IT infrastructure and security programmes.
  • Maintaining project plans, schedules and documentation in line with agreed standards.
  • Coordinating internal resources and supporting project milestones.
  • Building positive working relationships with customers, colleagues and third-party suppliers.
  • Supporting clear and consistent communication across all parties involved in a project.
  • Producing high-quality project documentation for both customers and internal teams.
  • Helping to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience across Intercity’s client base.
  • Learning industry best practice and contributing ideas to improve project delivery and service quality.

What we’re looking for:

We’re interested in people who are organised, curious and keen to develop their project management career in a practical, hands-on environment.

Experience & knowledge:

  • Exposure to IT, technology, networking or security projects (desirable, not essential).
  • A basic understanding of project management methodologies and delivery principles.
  • Confidence communicating with stakeholders at different levels.

Skills & behaviours:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, positive and eager to learn.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Calm, professional and customer-focused.
  • Honest, straightforward and a genuine team player.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.

Qualifications (desirable):

  • PRINCE2 Foundation (or working towards).
  • Interest in progressing to PRINCE2 Practitioner or APM qualifications.

Benefits:

  • A supportive environment to build your project management career.
  • Exposure to real, customer-facing IT and security projects.
  • Training and development opportunities, including professional qualifications.
  • Clear progression pathways within Professional Services.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A friendly, collaborative culture where people genuinely enjoy working together.
  • 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), with entitlement increasing by one day for each full calendar year employed, up to a maximum of five days.
  • Annual pay reviews.
  • Holiday buy scheme.
  • All-company bonus scheme.
  • Death in service cover.
  • Employee assistance programme.
  • Company pension.
  • Active social calendar.
  • A strong focus on developing our people.

We select candidates with the right skills, experience, and values to join us and selection is based on a fair and equal process.
