Intercity is looking for a strategic, people-focused leader who can guide our NOC & SOC teams to deliver exceptional service, rock-solid reliability, and world-class security. You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our Network Operations Centre and Security Operations Centre, ensuring our infrastructure is stable, secure, and always ahead of emerging threats. Key Responsibilities:- Lead, support, and grow our NOC & SOC teams.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor high-performing analysts, engineers, and leaders.
- Foster continuous learning through coaching and structured training.
- Inspire your teams, communicate clearly, and bring people together around shared goals.
- Stay calm and confident in high-pressure or crisis scenarios.
- Drive operational excellence by overseeing 24/7 monitoring to ensure strong network performance and quick issue resolution.
- Lead security detection, escalation, and response processes to keep threats at bay.
- Own incident and crisis management by building and refining SOC incident response playbooks.
- Lead high-impact escalations with clarity and confidence.
- Shape the future of our NOC & SOC by setting goals and aligning operational strategy with wider business priorities.
- Manage team resources, budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive efficiency through automation.
- Ensure all operations follow regulatory and internal compliance standards.
- Produce clear, meaningful performance metrics (uptime, SLAs, MTTD/MTTR) for senior leadership.
- Oversee the use and optimisation of SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and monitoring technologies.
- Continuously improve workflows so the team can respond faster and smarter.
Your background & qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or similar.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP (highly advantageous).
Your experience:
- 8–10+ years in network and security operations.
- At least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience leading both NOC and SOC teams.
- Strong technical knowledge in networking: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, cloud networks.
- Deep understanding of SOC tools and processes (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS).
